This product is a white solid. Its melting point is 141°C, and its vapor pressure is 0.036 × 10⁻³ Pa (25°C). At pH 4, pH 5, and pH 6, its solubility in water is 28 mg/L, 50 mg/L, and 280 mg/L, respectively. In organic solvents, it exhibits the following solubilities: 43.8 mg/L in acetone, 54.2 mg/L in acetonitrile, 3.12 mg/L in carbon tetrachloride, 17.5 mg/L in ethyl acetate, and only 0.028 mg/L in hexane. The partition coefficient (octanol/water) is 0.36 at pH 7. The compound remains stable under normal storage conditions and is light-stable; however, it undergoes hydrolysis at 45°C. It is stable within a pH range of 8 to 10 but rapidly degrades when exposed to pH levels below 7 or above 12. In soil, its half-life ranges from 1 to 7 days.
As a herbicide for wheat fields, it effectively controls annual broadleaf weeds such as chickweed, shepherd's purse, corn marigold, cleavers, field pennycress, amaranth, and pigweed.
