Highly effective cyfluthrin pure product appears as a white solid, while the industrial grade is a pale yellow solid. Its melting point is 49.2°C, and its vapor pressure is 200 × 10⁻⁹ Pa (2.67 × 10⁻⁷ Pa) at 20°C. The refractive index is n₂₄ᴰ = 1.534, with a boiling point range of 187–190°C under a pressure of 26.7 Pa. It is readily soluble in various organic solvents such as acetone, methanol, ethyl acetate, and toluene, each exhibiting a solubility greater than 500 g/L; however, it is insoluble in water. At room temperature, it can be stored stably for more than six months.
Under sunlight, its half-life in water is 20 days; in soil, it ranges from 22 to 82 days.
Alpha-cypermethrin is a highly effective, broad-spectrum, fast-acting pyrethroid insecticide and acaricide, primarily acting through contact and stomach poisoning, with no systemic activity.
